Some of you may wish to support the
Take a Hike for Humanity event and the projects that it benefits, but you are not up
to hiking. There are other options for you to support the event:
- Volunteer: We need relatively few volunteers the days of the
event, but you can contact us if you particularly want to do this, and
we’ll discuss what tasks we need to cover. However, if you’re interested
in being involved in the planning of the event, please contact us now.
- Pledge: You can pledge to someone who is hiking in the event.
If you do not know of anybody that plans to hike, send your pledge check
along with a note, and we’ll assign it to a participating hiker.
- Partner: Find someone to hike for you. You may not be up to
hiking yourself, but maybe you have a friend or family member who is
willing to do the hiking for you. You can collect the pledges and
provide them for the person doing the hiking.
- Join: Form or join a team of hikers. Teams can be up to 10
persons registering as a team. You may designate only some members of
the team to do the actual hiking, but all members can raise the pledges
and even show up to support the hikers. Maybe, the whole team can have a
cookout together afterwards or get together to celebrate your
accomplishments. Also, remember that you can seek corporate sponsors for
the team.
Even if you don’t hike, you don’t have to sit this event out!
